3 Places to Try this Leeds Indie Food Festival

Let’s start with Brunch

Dessert for dinner is great, dessert for breakfast is even greater. We at Restaurants of Leeds are die hard Fettle fans, but for this Leeds Indie Food Festival they’ve managed to improve their offering even more! This festival, their collaboration with Northern Bloc has just made them even sweeter.

For Festival Passport Holders there’s 10% off their brunch ice cream dishes, but this entirely un-ticketed event is also available to the wider public throughout the festival! Whilst you’re there, be sure to try Fettle’s perfect teas and their turmeric lattes, it’s a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds.

The perfect afternoon pick me up

By the time you’ve walked from Great George Street to Call Lane you’ll be ready for your next meal… or is that just us? Okay, it might be worth spending some time wandering around the city centre first before tracking down a late lunch.

Open from 12pm till 4pm, Knaves Kitchen have taken up residence in Call Lane’s favourite Mexican inspired hideout — Neon Cactus. Specifically created for the festival, Knaves is proudly presenting 3 vegan tacos which are sure to set your tastebuds on fire. These are available as specials throughout the festival and since this is another un-ticketed event you don’t need to panic about missing out on this delectable selection of dishes.

A delectable dinner

To round off your food filled day we’re suggesting that you go all out with a 5 course menu from the minds behind Laynes Espresso, Fish& and the XO Supper Club. This event is unique in that it’s drawing attention to mental health in the workplace, specifically in the hospitality industry. All the staff and volunteers who are present at the event have their own mental health stories to tell if you want to listen. With all of the profits from the evening going towards Leeds MIND, this event is as good as the food looks!

Menu wise, this is another vegetarian endeavour, but that shouldn’t put off the carnivores reading this! The sellout phenomenon of the XO Supper Club is packed with such intense flavours that you’ll never notice the lack of meat.

Tickets for this particular event are £30 or £27 for festival passport holders, be sure to book your place before they disappear!
