Well there is a way around this, eat out! Sit back, relax and let somebody else do the cooking and cleaning. Leeds is host to an abundance of restaurants that all offer amazing Sunday lunch offers. Below I have listed 4 that I think are definitely worth visiting!

The Nation of Shopkeepers

1. The Nation of Shopkeepers

For the more non traditional Sunday roast, The Nation of Shopkeepers is definitely the place to go. Usually renowned for its popularity with the younger crowd, this bar/restaurant boasts an extremely ‘cool’ vibe and features very contemporary interior design.

Their roast dinner takes on an American twist, served with sweet potato mash, fried potatoes, corn on the cob along with the usual green vegetables. Their meat also differs from that of a usual English Sunday roast; you can choose from oven roast chicken drenched in white wine and garlic, or select the salted beef brisket!

Don’t worry you veggies, they also have some delicious meals for non-meat eaters. You can opt for the sweet potato and cashew loaf! The prices aren’t the cheapest, but you are definitely paying for quality!

The Cross Keys

2. The Cross Keys

For those that are a fan of the authentic, British styled pub, you will fall in love with The Cross Keys. Situated just out of the city centre, this pub/restaurant offers real food with a real atmosphere. On entry, you are faced with traditional oak furniture, a warm fireplace and friendly faces.

The food selection is equally as British, and equally as impressive.  The Cross Keys offer a three course meal that suits both meat eaters and veggies alike. They home make their Yorkshire puddings, meaning no Aunt Bessie’s, just soft, tasty, true Yorkshires, complemented with delectable roasties and a bunch of parsnips and carrots, topped with thick gravy.

Brasserie Blanc

3. Brasserie Blanc

Situated on Sovereign Street, Leeds city centre, Brasserie Blanc is one of many restaurants that serve up a range of delicious, authentic French style meals. Sounds weird for a Sunday roast, right? No. In fact, this classic French restaurants take on a British classic is actually something to adventure into.

A long with an extensive wine list and a great selection of ales, Brasserie Blanc offer up an impressive, three course Sunday dinner which uses pork as its main meat, drenched in apple sauce, accompanied by vegetables, including everyone’s favorite, cauliflower cheese, alongside beautifully cooked roast potatoes.

The Adelphi

4. The Adelphi

Situated at the bottom of Leeds city centre, just off Briggate, a place that is often overlooked is the Adelphi pub. If you haven’t heard of it, it is a quaint, old fashioned pub that sports large Victorian styled doors, opening up a very traditionally set interior and a selection of four rooms to drink and dine in.

For those who like a good pint, the Adelphi has a great selection of cask ales and world beers, along with fine wines. Their Sunday roast takes on a very much homely feel, as if your grandparents cooked it. You can choose from a selection of four roasts, each offering different meats and slightly differing sides. There is also a vegetarian option, which is equally as delicious as the others.
