This quirky little restaurant is not that easy to find and is situated at the back of Trinity on Boar Lane. With a lovely outside eating area and an atmospheric space inside, The Botanist is perfect for a lunchtime snack or a relaxing evening meal.

Their menu is divided in half, and the top section offers a range of starters and the deli board option. Customers can select four items including meats and fish, cheese, and some homemade vegetable options. These are served with a Turkish flatbread and is all served up for under a tenner!

Veritas

2. Veritas

Part of Market Town Taverns, Veritas is often overlooked on Great George Street, as it’s very slightly off the beaten path from the high street. With delicious food and a great selection of drinks though, Veritas is not one to miss out on.

Their deli boards offer the perfect combination of meats and cheese and also come with an oil of your choice to dip your bread in. One of the best things about Veritas, is that if you liked the deli board, they also have their own mini deli from which you can buy any item of your choice to take home.

Friends of Ham

3. Friends of Ham

Currently in the process of a refurb, Friends of Ham reopens its doors on 27th September with a whole new layout and design. Situated on New Station St, Friends of Ham is perfect if you are meeting someone of the train or want somewhere central to grab a bit and have a good catch up.

They have an incredible selection of wine and craft beer, but the real draw to this bar is their charcuterie and cheese. Most the food is sourced from Yorkshire and they have a variety of different boards on offer. The Yorkshire board is always a favourite, but they also have a Spanish board, a Best of British board, or the option to make your own using a range of different meats and cheese.

Outlaws Yacht Club

4. Outlaws Yacht Club

It’s easy to walk past Outlaws and not realise that it’s a little bar, but once you get inside it’s a great space with a relaxed and laid back atmosphere The menu is relatively simple, but it offers exactly what we are looking for – a good deli board or two.

There are three different sharing platters available and a range of smaller plates and sides. Their Yorkshire Meat Board comes with a selection of local meats sourced from local farm The Greedy Little Pig, and the Yorkshire Cheese Board features a range of local cheese including Harrogate blue, Barncliffe brie and a Ribblesdale smoked goats.

Reliance

5. Reliance

Close to the centre of Leeds but far enough way from the hustle and bustle of town, The Reliance is a great little bar located on North Street. The bar at the front offers a host of delicious drink options and the restaurant at the bar has a fantastic menu to choose from.

The chefs at The Reliance cure their own meat in the kitchen, so you can only imagine how delicious their charcuterie boards are. They use locally sourced rare breed pork from the Taste Tradition near Thirsk and let customers choose from a range of meats. All boards are served with bread and pickles, and are as expensive as you make them at just £2.50 an item.
