Red’s True Barbeque

1. Red’s True Barbeque

Red’s definitely makes the list due to their infamous Donut Burger. A legend among lovers of Leeds burgers. Made with two flame grilled steak patties, double cheese, smoked peppered bacon, fried crispy onion rings and more, this burger is encased in two sticky glazed donuts and is not for the faint hearted.

If you are looking for something more savoury, then another favourite at Red’s is their Pit Burger, made with juicy beef brisket, streaky bacon and topped with succulent pulled pork. They also have some great classics if you’re looking for something a bit smaller.

Brooklyn Bar

2. Brooklyn Bar

The New York Burger Kitchen can be found just above Brooklyn Bar on Call Lane and has to make our list in our search for the best burger in Leeds. With a brilliant New York themed décor and images of the Manhattan skyline, you could easily feel like you are sat in a real New York burger bar.

The food is straightforward but delicious, with Leeds burgers served in a tasty brioche bun with the garnish of your choice. The menu has a great range of options, including The Blues Burger, Cajun Chicken and a succulent Honey and Rum option.

3. Byron Burger

If you are looking for a traditional classic hamburger in an American style diner, then Byron Burger will tick all of your boxes. Situated right in Leeds city centre, Byron has some of the best burgers in Leeds and is popular with the locals.

Their aim is simple; they sell tasty burgers in a no-fuss manner. Customers choose the type of burger they want, including beef, chilli, veggie or chicken, then decide what toppings they want. You can watch your food getting cooked in their open theatre kitchen and enjoy a great selection of craft ales while you build up an appetite.

MEATliquor

4. MEATliquor

Joining Leeds from the bright lights of London is another newbie, MEATliquor, which can be found on Bank Street behind Victoria’s Secret in Trinity. It has fast become one of our favourite Leeds burger joint’s and if you want a truly indulgent and high quality burger, then you better get in the queue (no seriously, they don’t take bookings.)

Their most famous burger is called the Dead Hippie and consists of two mustard-fried burgers, cheese, lettuce, onion and a dash of their secret “dead hippie” burger sauce. It is a legend among burger lovers and has to be considered for the best burger in Leeds. With Greek spiced lamb, buffalo chicken and a delicious halloumi and mushroom burger, there really is something for everyone here.

Almost Famous

5. Almost Famous

This one has popped up the M62 from Manchester and has established itself on Great George Street right in the city centre. You won’t know what’s hit you until you have tried the food and drink at Almost Famous. not only is one of the coolest Leeds burger joints, they are certainly contenders for the best burger in Leeds.

Their menu has a fantastic list of burger names, including a Suicide (beef patty, hot sauce, blue cheese sauce, jalapeno relish and iceberg lettuce), a 203 On A Bun (beef chilli, mac and cheese patty and million island sauce) and a John Bender (sausage patty, poached egg, bacconaise and more). With a great range of drinks and a fantastic desert menu, you will quickly become an Almost Famous regular.
